Description

In this episode, Miki and Danni start a conversation on diet culture. Miki shares the fad diets she has tried such as the Copenhagen diet, Slimming World, Whole 30 to name a few. Danni and Miki share their motivators behind starting diets, how it has impacted the way they each view food and their bodies. Danni shares how her body is changing with age, but learning to accept these changes instead of trying to force her body to look and behave the same way it did during her teens or in her early twenties.

A message from Danni & Miki:  Our relationship with food is evolving as we are. For anyone who has struggled or is currently struggling in their relationship with food, we relate, and we support you in your health journey. We intend this conversation to be just that - a conversation between friends. Please note in sharing our experience with certain diets, we are by no means promoting any diet or way of eating and living. This is just the first of many conversations we hope to have around food, body image, and food politics. This week Miki recommends a book (for the first time!) the Pulitzer prize wining novel, The Sympathizer by Vietnamese American professor Viet Thanh Nguyen. The book follows a French Vietnamese communist spy and his life after the fall of Saigon, and his exile in Los Angeles.
