Description

To say this global pandemic has been an uneasy year would be the understatement of the century. In today's episode, Miki and Danni catch up and check in with each other on recent current events, their adjustment to the "new normal", and the importance of self care. Miki shares how she used to mistake self-care as a #YOLO mentality and Danni talks about the new self care routines she has adopted during quarantine that she won't be stopping once the world opens back up. While it's looking hopeful with the vaccine roll-out plans in both US and UK, Danni and Miki both sees the value of setting boundaries for ourselves and prioritizing our mental health. Putting ourselves first does not mean being selfish!

In response to the rise in anti-Asian hate crime in America, we are sharing a recommendation each week (a book, a movie, podcast, social media account, etc.) that highlights and celebrates Asian heritages and culture because our stories deserve to be told and shared too. This week, Miki recommends: Asian American, a PBS documentary series available on Amazon Prime US. The series is told through the lens of individual Asian Americans and their personal histories, and aims to walk through Asian American history and the impact Asian Americans have on shaping America.
