The film industry is one of the best (or the worst if you
will) examples of male domination and the male gaze. Female actresses earn significantly less than their male counterparts and the amount of women behind the camera is minimal in comparison.
That is the status quo. But it is not the future. Because
there are women in the industry who are determined to break this system. Women like Valentina El Harizi want to create a film industry with a real representation of the complexity of society, the world, and yes, women.
