*Today's Inspiration
by Marie T. Russell, InnerSelf.com
I practice being flexible in my thoughts, attitudes, and actions.
When I think of being inflexible, the image comes to mind of having one's feet stuck in cement, or perhaps in quicksand. A person in that situation is either stuck in place and unable to move, or sinking in the mess they have stepped into - whether it's their own mess or someone else's.
I believe, that flexibility is of primordial importance for us to: 1) change our life and 2) change our world. If we keep doing the same thing, we get the same results (which is also a definition of insanity). If we want different results -- whether we are talking our health, our job, our relationships, our world -- we need to be flexible and try different things in different ways.
Just because we have "always" believed something or done something a certain way does not mean we have to continue doing so. We can choose to be flexible and experiment with different beliefs, attitudes, and actions.
Today, I practice being flexible... in my thoughts, my attitudes, my goals, my actions, and my life.
