Description

In this podcast episode Nicola Welsh from the charity Held in Our Hearts shares how the organisation helps bereaved families, & how these services have changed & extended over the last couple of years. A fabulous resource in the Lothian's and Highlands of Scotland http://www.heldinourhearts.org.uk/

This is what Nicola says about her charity: "Held in our Hearts are an Edinburgh based charity providing families who have suffered the devastating loss of a baby or child. Our counsellors guide bereaved parents through the grieving process and support them for as long as they need us and our befrienders give compassionate and flexible care in person, zoom, text, email and by telephone. Befrienders are all bereaved parents.

We also work closely with hospital and community-based professionals, providing compassionate care training and offering student midwife placements.

Our aim is to offer the best possible individualised support to families throughout Scotland at all times. Families can self-refer or someone can refer on their behalf and our specialist and bespoke baby loss counselling is free and available for up to 18 months." https://www.facebook.com/babylosscounsellingandsupport

If you are affected by babyloss & are outside this area, there will be a local service that can support you, or national SANDS in the UK   https://www.sands.org.uk/

You can join the wave of light by lighting a candle on 15th October wherever you are in the world at 7pm. This global event happens each year.
