BCIT’s main campuses are located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the shared traditional territories of the Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nations.
Unceded territories are the Indigenous land that was not acquired by or surrendered to the Crown. Most of British Columbia is located on unceded Indigenous land.
