A bondservant is a slave who willingly decides to stay with his master even when he is free to leave. This means that the person will no longer be treated as a slave, but as an extension of the family.
Eph. 6:5-7
Bondservants,[a] obey your earthly masters[b] with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man,
Paul says here that we are 'bondservants of Christ'. That means that our purpose is to carry out the will of Jesus in this world.
