And in the heart of Quebec, between 2011 and 2012, where maple syrup flows like liquid gold, a gang of robbers orchestrated the disappearance of 18 million Canadian dollars worth of the syrupy treasure. Get ready for a tale where the strange pursuit of maple gold takes a turn into the world of the, I can’t believe I’m saying this, black-market maple syrup trade.

Maple Bourbon Smash (Cocktail)

• 2 parts bourbon

• ½ part maple syrup

• ½ part orange juice

• ¼ part lemon juice

• 1 orange wheel

• 4 dashes bitters

• 1 ½ parts seltzer

1. In a glass, combine maple syrup, orange juice, and lemon juice.

2. Muddle orange wheel in the bottom of the glass.

3. Add bourbon, stir well.

4. Top with ice and seltzer.
