By all accounts, the Tromp family was just as ordinary as you can imagine. Marc and Jacoba were in their early fifties, and their three adult children were in their twenties. Farmers by trade, Marc and Jacoba were hard-working Australians, with no known outwardly visible mental health issues, at least known to those outside the family. All five worked the farm and their earth-moving business in Silvan, a rural town in Victoria, Australia. But something went very, very wrong in August of 2016, and what happened next is a mystery that still haunts the Tromp family, and I suppose us, after today’s episode!

Japanese Slipper (Cocktail)
1 part Cointreau or Grand Marnier
½ part Lemon juice
1 part Midori or melon liqueur
1 maraschino cherry
Put maraschino cherry into bottom of martini or small win glass
Add all remaining ingredients to shaker with six cubes of crushed ice
Stir with a bar spoon
Strain directly into the glass
Drink ‘er up!

1 part honeydew melon juice
1 maraschino cherry
Put maraschino cherry into bottom of martini or small win glass
Add all remaining ingredients to shaker with six cubes of crushed ice
