Description

This week on the podcast, we have a conversation with Angelo Thomas. Since recovering from anorexia in 2018, Angelo has been proud to give a voice to men, LGBTQ+, and Latinx people who are struggling with eating disorders. He has spoken at NEDA walks and conferences across the country and currently works as a Digital Outreach Coordinator at ANAD. Angelo recently completed The Incredible Jake Parker, a book and feature film about a teenage popstar’s battle with anorexia (see below for links to both the book and the film).

Some things we talk about include

-How Angelo's authenticity was impacted during his adolescence

-Angelo's recovery story, including his experience as a gay Latinx man in treatment

-What has inspired him to do what he does in the realm of activism

-The importance of inclusivity in eating disorder recovery spaces

-The Incredible Jake Parker (the creation of, and inspiration behind it)

-...and more
