Tommy Scott desired and felt drawn toward God throughout his life. At the age of 16, he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on June 17th, 2023. In the Fall at a high school football game Tommy started talking to a young woman who was a member of the church. He had questions about her church. She invited Tommy to come to church and learn more. Tommy accepted her invitation and showed up early on a Sunday morning eager to learn more and feel God's love. President Nelson said, "My dear extraordinary youth, you were sent to earth at this precise time, the most crucial time in the history of the world, to help gather Israel. There is nothing happening on this earth right now that is more important than that. There is nothing of greater consequence. Absolutely nothing. This gathering should mean everything to you. This is the mission for which you were sent to earth.
