Good morning Dads and Friends of Dads! Today we have Chris Gibbs of Crankin To Cure Cancer joining Aaron & Devon on the cast. In May 2017, Chris was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer. Chris was 45 years old, an avid cyclist, wild land firefighter, professional photographer and family man with a loving wife and two daughters ages 13 and 11. You can imagine how a diagnosis like this would be tough to deal with, but that's just the start of Chris's story.

In his own words : "This is when I turned towards the bike, and bike family for healing power and called it Crankin To Cure Cancer. Riding and racing my bike provided me with a sense of normalcy and I heeded to a friends advice 'You're not dying from cancer but living with it'.  At the time, this was the way I chose to deal with it. I would show to others how to fight, and attack this thing that attacked me. It can happen to anyone, and all I wanted to do was to give anyone, if just one person, a sense of hope, encouragement, to fight, to Do Something! So I raced and rode my bike throughout all 12 of my chemotherapy sessions.,100 days straight. I worked with a local cycling clothing manufacturer and developed the Crankin To Cure Cancer Kit which I made public and 10% of each kit purchased went to someone fighting against cancer. I simply used it as a way to get through my battle with cancer and in the meantime if I could encourage one person to help someone with cancer, to donate to a cancer foundation, or to encourage someone fight and keep on living, I considered that a good day."

Chris introduces the Do Something! idea and how it came to be.

Devon is killin' it at work!

Aaron tells us his favorite ride (and how you can join too!)
