The people of God, dissatisfied with being led by the prophet Samuel and his sons, ask for a King so they can be like all the other nations. God’s desire is that they will choose to let God lead them through God’s chosen vessels. God grieves over the people’s request but gives them the leader they want, though first warning them that it will have dire consequences for generations to come. In today’s message, we will consider the importance of choosing mentors, teachers, and leaders.
