Behavior is said to be self-sabotaging when it creates problems in daily life and interferes with long-standing goals. Among the most common self-sabotaging behaviors are procrastination, self-medication with drugs or alcohol, comfort eating.
"Self-sabotage tends to show up when things are going well in a relationship. A lot of times this happens when a person has had bad experiences in prior relationships, either romantic or in their own family. They can feel like when things are going well, they don't deserve it or something is wrong.
