Hammond Report August 7 2021 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - Daily Music and Stories from the organist & accordionist Jon Hammond, today's story is about playing a very special gig opening for one of my favorite bay area bands growing up Sons of Champlin at The Fillmore on a big Friday night June 4, 1999 - trio formation of my band Jon Hammond and The Late Rent Session Men with James Preston drums, the late great funk drummer and long-time member of the Sons on my band, we went way back to teenager years, Barry Finnerty guitar and yours truly Jon Hammond at the organ - the video camera was in the back of the house and some photos of the gig floating around - I put up a picture I squeezed off from the organ, so if you were there and see yourself it'd be great to hear from you Sons of Champlin freaks! Bill Graham Presents fed us a beautiful dinner after sound check and I had my own dressing room with name on it, dream gig - stay safe everybody and come back tomorrow for next Hammond Report!
