Welcome back, Boo Crew! In this week’s episode we’re headed to Athens, Ohio for a story on the Athens Lunatic Asylum. As usual, the reasons one could be admitted to the asylum back in those days were vast. Female “hysteria” and masturbation could land you in there. Or you could simply be dropped off if you were unwanted, or couldn’t be cared for. We take a look at the history of the building as well as the asylum’s current residents. For our meal this week, Bree made Pumpkin Pasta. I was skeptical at first, but a creamy sauce and unique flavor profile made this dish one of the best I think we’ve had. It even has me trashing the Midwesterners’ Butter Noodles that are a staple at all our Thanksgiving dinners, so I can swap in the pumpkin pasta! All this and more in #41!
