Welcome to Pennsylvania, and the wonderful world of PennDot.
A delightful organization, a great paying union job, and a viable force in the world of "milking the clock", "milking a job", etc.
Wintertime in NEPA is almost tragic, when it comes to our roads, especially when you are in Northeastern PA (a.k.a. NEPA), and more notably, when you are in Wayne County Pennsylvania.
This county is a region where PennDot has forgotten that we actually exist on the state map. Road plowing in the wintertime is a nightmare.
it's like they get to the county border and just lift up the plows -- no joke -- you have to come here and witness it with your own eyes to believe it.
And forget about road construction, or as we call it, Road Destruction. What takes other states weeks or months, takes our state months and years.
And of course, that's when they aren't hiding out in their yellow trucks on some dead-end road or cul-de-sac. And let's not forget the old joke of how many PennDot workers does it take to patch a pothole? The answer -- 2 crew trucks holding about 12 workers, with 2 doing the work and the rest just sitting arounmd.
