Description

It’s the first ever Punkie for Album of The Year! Yes I know it’s March of the subsequent year, but if you heard the episode a few weeks back “Albummed Out” you’ll hear that I really did agonize over this, and that there was no real close second or third. This album, Intronaut’s progressive metal jazz-fusion masterpiece: Fluid Existential Inversions, is mind-bending -and blowing- in all the best ways. At one point in this pod I describe it as “a hall of mirrors from which I thought I might never escape.” There just aren’t enough superlatives to throw in this album’s general direction. Listen to the entire thing for a more complete breakdown. I wanted to throw in some clips but that’s a surefire way to get shitcanned so I’m including links below. There’s also craic about how godawful in general the Kings of Leon are, I talk about the big big news in Progressive Metal this week, namely that the producer of Tool’s Lateralus album is behind the desk for the new Mastodon record, and then it’s time for the best segment in Podcasting: Walloper Watch!
