This week's episode covers the two readings "Dancing in the Margins: Experiences of African American Ballerinas" by Nyama McCarthy-Brown and "Queer Swans: Those Fabulous Avians in the Swan Lake of Les Ballets Trockadero and Matthew Bourne" by Suzanne Juhasz. These discuss the African American or black experience in the American ballet world as well as an analysis about gender and sexuality within newer productions of Swan Lake, specifically with the all male Trockadero Ballet Company. Also, please bear with me as I verbally stumble throughout this whole episode :)
