John G. Lake lived his life and fulfilled his ministry in the earth as man who understood his position offered to him by Christ. John G. Lake was credited with raising over 1,000,000 converts, 625 churches and 1,250 preachers in just five years of ministry. Lake was not only a theologian and a great orator, who saw the kingdom of God advance through his healing ministry. He was a brain surgeon with a weekend deliverance ministry.
And God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion..” Genesis 1:28
God lived in me, God manifested in me, God spoke through me. My spirit was deified, and I had a new comprehension of God’s will, a new discernment of spirit, and a new revelation of God in me. JGL
God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:
Psalms 82:1
It became necessary for God, to redeem the race, to provide a means of reuniting God and man. The Word of God speaks of the first Adam and the last Adam. They were both Adams. They both came to produce a race. JGL
Eden and Earth must be distinct since, after the fall, Adam and Eve are expelled from it and have to live elsewhere. The distinction helps us see that the original task of humanity was to make the entire Earth like Eden. Michael Heiser
Whenever you see the title “God” you should think as someone who is a ruler
For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." Genesis 3:5
The word God is in Hebrew ELOHIM. It means someone who is a powerful ruler. Yahweh is the Most High God, which means there are other gods or rulers.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
The Christian, therefore, is a ruler; he is in the place of dominion, the place of authority, even as Jesus was.
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule..” Genesis 1:26
The word elohim is used of God himself (Gen. 1:1), demons (Deut. 32:17), and the human dead in the afterlife (1 Sam. 28:13). any disembodied being whose home address is the spirit world is an elohim.
The image of God is not:
•Intelligence
•Reasoning ability
•Emotions
•The ability to commune with God
•Self-awareness (sentience)
•Language/communication ability
•The presence of a soul or spirit (or both)
•The conscience
The divine image bearing is what makes humankind distinct from the rest of earthly creation (i.e., plants and animals). You’re either created as God’s image bearer or you aren’t. One cannot speak of being partly or potentially bearing God’s image. We are created to image God, to be his imagers. It is what we are by definition. The image is not an ability we have, but a status"
Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind. Genesis 9:6
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:22
Jesus said, “I said ye are gods.” It is with the attitude of gods in the world that Jesus wants the Christian to live. JGL
The secret of Christianity is that Jesus Christ based it on an acceptance of HIMSELF. Not just receive His words alone, but he that receives Jesus HIMSELF! (JGL)
I said, "You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you” Psalms 82:6 But the secret of Christianity is not in doing. The secret is in being. Real Christianity is in being a possessor of the nature of Jesus Christ. JGL
He has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature… 2 Peter 1:4
Why does God come down from heaven into the hearts of men, into the natures of men, into the bodies of men, into the souls of men, into the spirits of men? God’s purpose in man is to transform him into the nature of God.
