Dr. Daniel Fishbein is the recently retired Superintendent of Schools in Ridgewood, NJ. Ridgewood is one of the largest public school districts in our area where he oversaw 10 schools from Per-K through 12th grade. Starting off in insurance underwriting, Dr. Fishbein went back to school to get a Masters Degree in Education and entered the field as a Science teacher in Vermont. He relocated to the New York/New Jersey area with his wife where he continued his own education at the Teachers College in NY to earn and additional Masters and eventually his Doctorate.
Dr. Fishbein began his journey in administration by becoming an Assistant Principal in NY before becoming an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director in Glen Ridge, NJ. Eventually, this led to becoming Principal and then Superintendent of Glen Ridge. In 2008, we were fortunate enough to have Dr. Fishbein accept the position of Superintendent in Ridgewood where he spent 12 years.
Dr. Fishbein is well known for his sense of humor and adventure. He shares with us some amazing wisdom on his journey to becoming a leader, his intangibles for leadership, and how he is working to develop our future leaders.
