Mark 11 ushers in the last week of Jesus’s life known as the Passion Week. In this chapter Jesus rides into Jerusalem openly fulfilling a prophecy concerning the coming Messiah. He begins to engage in public conflict with the religious leaders and illustrates through his teaching and his actions that the Jewish religion and temple system of his day have failed in accomplishing their intended purpose of drawing people to God.
