About Deacon Michael Halbrook: Deacon Michael Halbrook was ordained for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois by Bishop Thomas John Paprocki on June 26, 2021. He and his wife have been married eighteen years and are raising four sons. His diaconal ministry at St. Elizabeth Parish in Granite City, Illinois is to serve the pastor as director of faith formation and liturgy. He has a deep passion for evangelization, catechesis, and the liturgy, and a deep love for Eucharistic adoration, marriage preparation, and baptizing children.
He first journeyed Exodus 90 solo in 2016, then with a virtual fraternity in 2021, and finally an in-person fraternity in 2022 with which he’s continuing in 2023. He was involved with the Exodus team in collaboration and creativity to deepen the engagement of Exodus within parish life, and in the fall of 2022 he joined the growing team of Exodus as their first COO.
Michael’s secular career was as a leader at the intersection of technology, media, and marketing. Most recently, he was a Director at Adobe, capping fifteen years in various roles, including Chief of Staff for the 650-person, $200M/year consulting business. In various roles he initiated & grew teams in some of the most high-growth and forward-looking areas of Adobe consulting.
Prior, Michael was an on-air talent and online director at three St. Louis radio stations, founded and sold a dotcom in 2000, helped launch the digital group at St. Louis's largest media production house, and led digital media and analytics for customers including AT&T and Anheuser Busch at St. Louis-based Rodgers Townsend.
