The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, Khalil Halilu says empowering youths with the knowledge of ICT will reduce the high rate of unemployment in the country.
He stated this at the unveiling and closing project of an ICT entrepreneurial programme known as “Everygirl 2.0 connect” programe in Abuja.

Mr. Halilu who is also the founder of Khalil Suleinman Halillu Foundation an NGO, said the foundation focuses on empowering the underserved communities by providing access to technology and education to make career decisions.

The Executive Vice Chairman NASENI, said the programme is to empower young women of between 14 and 21 years in underserved communities with the knowledge of ICT.
Some of the beneficiaries of the project Fauzia Mohammed and Favour Eze from Enonyi state said the foundation has given them a life changing experience to be entrepreneurs in the society.

The coordinator of the project, Farida Yahya urged the beneficiaries to make use of the experienced to become self-reliant.
Each of the fifteen girls that were selected across the six geo-political zones were given laptops.
