It is clear fact that democracy require sound parties with focused leadership and a clear ideology for national development
In Nigeria , the two dominant ruling parties that is People's Democracy Party (PDP) which ruled for sixteen years and the All Progressives Congress (APC) which is currently in its ninth years in power are pre- occupied with internal leadership crisis which collapsed the former and are currently threatening to tear the latter apart.
However, the inability of country's political leaders to establish parties with a dedicated and pragmatic party leadership is affecting the democractic governance despite having the experience of the longest experiment in the history of the nation.
