Be Better Today (Season 2, Episode 41) – Crisis: Abraham Lincoln
Without a doubt, Abraham Lincoln is one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history, and here is what he had to say about a national crisis: “I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.”
Lincoln trusted the people to do what is right in a crisis if given access to the truth. Today’s pandemic is testing Lincoln’s assertion. Will we rise to the occasion or let political views obscure the truth, putting everyone in danger? We each get to make a choice. I trust we will all make the right one.
