PUMP

A law that expands protection for nursing mothers was part of the budget bill signed in December 2022. Here is a primer on PUMP that expands what was started with the ACA.

Providing Urgent Maternal Protection for Nursing Mothers Act. 

It means you need to provide accommodations to cover salaried employees and others. 

Two years of accommodations provided to employees. 

Space to express, needs to provide shield from view. Reasonable break time no set time.

Businesses with 50 or less do not have are not subject to this. 

If employee complains of an employer not providing necessary accommodations the employer has 10 days to remedy situation.
