Smooth talker: the type of person who can persuade anyone to do anything. They can be very dangerous and take advantage of others.

Crux: A crux is the most important factor of a problem, situation or matter. You'll often see it used in the phrase 'the crux of the matter'. https://links.artisanenglish.jp/Crux
