Description

Earth Day is this Friday, April 22, and guest, Mia Perry shares some helpful tips to celebrate the holiday. In 1970, Senator Gaylord Nelson founded Earth Day as a way to bring awareness to air and water pollution within the United States. What was initially planned as teach-ins on college campuses soon sparked into a national day of 20 million Americans participating in demonstrations, protests, and rallies against the lasting effects industrial development had caused to the environment and the health of humans and wildlife alike.
Mia is the Charlotte chapter lead for Tuesdays for Trash, a grassroots movement for reducing litter. Mia is also a wife, mother, and blogger. Her sustainable blog, Being Green with Momentous focuses on how to become more sustainable and eco-friendly through simple lifestyle changes.
