Sonja Beeker grew up in Germany, near the Dutch border, and famous coffee shops. Surprisingly, cannabis was never on her radar. The acceptance of cannabis in Germany is growing but not as advanced as in Maine. She Mastered French, English, and Media at the university in Hamburg and later became a radio journalist for German Public Radio. Sonja continued this work once she moved to the US but kept her second career as a medical cannabis caregiver a secret at home for quite a while out of fear of being judged. She recalls feeling like a "real gangster" when she first helped Damon trim his harvest. Only after years of seeing what difference edibles made in their patient´s lives and how beneficial the flower was for herself was she ready to spread the word about Wind Hill Growers' "little pot farm." Sonja had her "coming out" of the cannabis closet at her 20th high school reunion. What fun!
