Description

In this episode, I was fortunate enough to talk to Dr Emma DeCicco from The Dash Health Hub, who kindly shared her personal experience as a parent with an autistic son.

Key Terms:

Identity First Language – Autistic person, not a person with Autism

Neurodiversity Affirming – neurodiversity doesn’t see disorders as fixable, rather it is recognised as a part of life. The neurodiversity umbrella includes but isn’t limited to autistic people and ADHDers. It does not aim to mould neurodivergent people into neurotypical people.

IEPs - Individual Education Plans

Disclaimer: I'm not a professional, just a student with a passion for autism.
