In the Premature Discussion of 2022 Episode, Emily walks though some of the Senate elections that may be competitive during the "upcoming" midterms. She also talks about some of the other current events in the Senate, where the Trump staffers are in a post-Trump world, the state of the Biden administration one week in, and about the state of journalism in America.

Some notes and clarifications from this episode:
-Sen. Padilla (D-CA) is also going to be up for re-election in 2022 because he was selected to fill VP Kamala Harris’ seat. However, this seat is a safe bet for the Democrats regardless.
-Dianne Feinstein is currently 87. When she runs for office again in 2024, she will be 91 years old. Chuck Grassley is also 87 right now, and will be 89 when running for re-election in 2022.
-Chuck Grassley has been serving in Congress since 1975.
-Sen. Leahy, the Senate President pro tempore, is a Democrat, not an Independent! Angus King (I-ME) is the other Independent in the Senate, along with Bernie Sanders, although both caucus with the Democrats.
