One of the more peculiar aspects of the resurrection appearances of Jesus is the mention of the glorified, risen Jesus having scars or markings from His time on the Cross. Both the Gospel of Luke (cf. Lk 24:40) and the Gospel of John mention them. Is this just a superfluous detail? Or is there something significant behind the risen Lord bearing scars? When we look at the scars, do we see them how Jesus saw them?
