Jesus wept. Up there with the likes of Jesus walking on water (John 6:16-21) and turning water to wine (John 2:6-10), Jesus resurrecting Lazarus is a story most people are acquainted with (John 11:1-44). If you’ve ever attended a Christian funeral, you’ve likely heard this story preached a time or two. Or, if you’re like me, you know this story because it contains the Bible verse you wanted to memorize for AWANA cause it's only two words. “Jesus wept" (John 11:35). But is there more to His weeping? What does it mean for us to weep like Jesus wept?
