“Do you understand what I have done to you?” (Jn 13:12). A powerful question. But this moment—Jesus washing the disciples feet—is too important to be misinterpreted or forgotten.
But could it also be that Jesus is giving us a clue to the easy yoke? If we believe Jesus somehow holds the clues to living an abundant, fulfilling blessed life… If we’re ever going to experience any rest for our souls, any lightness to His burden, any ease to the yoke (cf. Matt 11:28-30)… It doesn’t come by oddly—paradoxically—looking out solely for #1; it comes by looking out and having a radar for how to best serve the needs of others around us! If we’re going to be yoked to Jesus—the Servant King—we best not overlook or balk at what Jesus was doing on the other side of the yoke; instead, what if weleaned into it… Put on a towel and joined Him!Who knows? Maybe we’ll accidentally stumble into a secret to living an abundant, fruitful life…
