Pastor Taylor Shippy - James 5:13-20
I think I hear James arguing that Christians can offer each other something special to our spirituality and our faith that our relationships with God are unable to. Just like humans innately need connection with other humans to survive and thrive in this world, I think James argues that Christians need other Christians to contribute to our relationships with God and our ministry as Christ followers. That there’s something uniquely beneficial from being in relationship with other like-minded, godly humans. That our relationships with God aren’t enough when it comes to living the Christian life. As crazy as that may seem! We need to be in communion with other saints, other believers, if we’re to best grow and thrive as followers of Jesus!
