Pastor Taylor Shippy - Luke 17:11-19
As I was reflecting on this story this week, I couldn’t help but wonder if the majority of people, 9 out of 10 people, who have somehow been blessed by God, take for granted what God has just done for them? Not because they are somehow nefarious sinners. Not because they don’t obey God and want to make Him proud. But because they miss out on the other blessings God has for them… They think they’ve gotten all that God wants to give them when in reality they’ve only scratched the surface… And as I was dwelling on this, I think I heard the voice of Jesus saying that the gateway, the portal, to wholeness, to experiencing that 'second blessing' that only the Samaritan got, is gratitude.
