You wanna know something crazy? The God that “changed his mind” about the Ninevites… The God who cared about that no good ‘great’ city of scum and villains. That demonstrated to them slowness of anger and an abundance of mercy. That God hasn’t changed! In fact, roughly five hundred years later that same God would arrive in this world, a world that just like Nineveh was overrun and populated by unholy, unclean, sinful people… Enemies… Not to condemn the world but to save the world (cf. Jn 3:17)… to redeem and rescue the world… Because “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…” (Jn 3:16). One 'greater than Jonah' (cf. Matt 12:41; Lk 11:32)has come save Ninevites like you and me!
