“And when Jesus saw their faith…” (Mk 2:5).
So often when we read this story, we get sidetracked—either by the gapping hole torn in some poor man’s roof or by the debate between Jesus and His critics.
But seldom do we notice the ones Jesus was watching.
The helpers. The four nameless friends who carried and lowered a paralyzed man to the feet of Jesus.
And I wonder?
What if we looked at them too—like Jesus did?
What might we see?
