We discuss the 2007 comedy musical Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story written by Judd Apatow & Jake Kasden. This movie stars John C. Reily, Jenna Fischer, Tim Meadows, Kristen Wiig and a slew of some of the best comedic actors. "Following a childhood tragedy, Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly) follows a long and winding road to music stardom. Dewey perseveres through changing musical styles, an addiction to nearly every drug known and bouts of uncontrollable rage, until finally, he wins the heart, but not necessarily the body, of his loyal backup singer, Darlene (Jenna Fischer)."
The film is very much a product of parody for such films like Walk The Line, Ray, and many other musician based biopic films. The boys discuss Gooning, The Goon, and Goon June. Meanwhile it's revealed that Cody jizzes wine. John C. Reilly is actually singing in this film and is also a blue/country singer with his own band. Who's funnier, John C. Reilly or Will Ferrell? He also has a lot of range with such projects as Boogie Nights, Gangs of New York, & Winning Time. Anthony reveals this is his favorite movie. The comedy is so well written that even the dumb jokes are not just pulled out of the air but well crafted. John C. Reilly is capable of crying on command. Anthony shares a ghostly story that occurred in his basement. Did LSD open Anthony to being susceptible to being possessed by the devil? It's hands on sight for any guy named Schuyler!
