Richard Curasi - Colonel, Retired, US Army; Federal Security Director, Retired, DHS/TSA

Richard (Rich) Curasi is a senior executive in intelligence, security, strategic planning, and decision making in the private and public sectors. A builder and leader of high performing organizations, Rich was one of TSA’s  original five Federal Security Directors (FSD) to implement the public-private partnership approach to airport security that mixed the strength of government resources with the flexibilities and efficiencies of the commercial sector. For seven years he led the TSA effort in the Western half of a large MidWestern state, responsible for over 750 personnel at six airports from small to large. He remains a respected and sought after SME on transportation security topics as well as on issues of intelligence and overall security. During a military career spanning 30 years and including command of units in the US as well as overseas, Rich also built extensive experience working with the militaries of allied nations, particularly in NE Asia. Rich works hard to give back to the community: A trained and State Certified “Gatekeeper” Suicide Prevention Trainer, a Veterans Treatment Court Mentor, the Senior Military Advisor to the Metropolitan Bar Association’s Military Matters Program – and the only non-attorney to have received the coveted President’s Award - Rich dedicates countless volunteer hours to activities that contribute to the survival, health, and welfare of our Serving Military, our Veterans, and their Families.
