Kip Nelson has been a pastor for almost 30 years. For the last 20 years he as served in various roles with Legacy Christian Church (www.lcc.org). Kip has been Chaplain for the Lee’s Summit Police Department in Lee’s Summit, Missouri for 7 years and Peer Support Coordinator for 5 years. For the past 3 years, Kip has also served on the board of directors and chaplain for FRST Midwest www.frstmidwest.org/. FRST Midwest is a non-profit organization established in 2019 to provide educational programs to promote healthy development following stress and critical incidents experienced by first responders and their families, including collaboration with culturally competent mental health professionals. Kip has also served at the West Coast Post Trauma Retreat (WCPR) as chaplain and peer support. The WCPR program is for first responders whose lives have been affected by their work experience. Kip has been married to Catherine for 30 years and has 3 amazing kids Grace, Grant and Garrett. His favorite activities are spending time with his family including his grandson Kyland. He also enjoys riding mountain bikes, playing drums and traveling. Kip is also working towards his Biblical Counseling Certification through The Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.
