Dawson LaRance is an openly gay track runner at Colorado State University and in this episode he shares his story on growing up in a homophobic town and overcoming the derision and his own fears of his sexuality to eventually becoming a Mountain West Conference Champion in the 800 meter run and starting an LGBTQ+ support and advocacy group at the University of Minnesota. Dawson has received a outstanding student athlete Leadership award and his Personal records in track include: 1:47 min in the 800 meter run and 3:43 min in the 1500 meter run.
