Description

Heritage Interpretation is a way to communicate information about a natural or cultural site, a museum, or a park or center.

A common way to start interpretation is to ask yourself “After my visitors have left, when they go back to their daily routines, will they remember their visit to my site/museum? What emotions do I wish to evoke after hearing this site’s narrative?” Through Heritage Interpretation, tour spiels are elevated into narratives that give more meaning to objects and sites, so that participants create a closer connection after their visit.

The Nayong Pilipino Foundation has invited Ivan Man Dy of Old Manila Walks and Lean A. Aldea of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and Museum Guide at the NHCP Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo to share their experiences respectively on third-person interpretation and first-person interpretation in this conversation sponsored by the Nayong Pilipino Foundation Cultural Leadership Institute.
