Our Rookie Card Episode
During his illustrious 20 year career, Jerry Rice left an imprint so great on the game of professional football that no one before or since has been able to come close to reaching his lofty accomplishments. His impact on the game will be felt forever.
The Starkville, Mississippi native retired from The National Football League holding, by a wide margin, every major career record for wide receivers including receptions, touchdown receptions and receiving yards to name a few. He has scored more points than any non-kicker in the history of the league. Rice holds well over 100 NFL records and that, in and of itself, is a record.
He was a 13 time Pro Bowler, a 12 time All-Pro and a three time Super Bowl champion (including a Super Bowl XXIII MVP award) with the San Francisco 49ers. The lists where you will find Jerry Rice at the top spot are seemingly endless and even in the current pass happy league, many of his records appear to be untouchable.
A Pro Football Hall of Famer, a College Football Hall of Famer and the man chosen to sit at the number one spot on NFL Network’s Top 100: NFL’s Greatest Players as the greatest player in NFL history, the awards, accolades and adulation is never ending.
