Welcome to the Rocky Mtn Mixdown podcast where we discuss and document the making of the Colorado music scene. Welcome to 2022!! This will be the second year of the Rocky Mtn Mixdown podcast and we’re planning to keep up our twice-a-month releases schedule including a monthly Local Scene Check-In episode with details on upcoming local shows, new releases, and new content from local bands and artists, plus a Highlight episode each month where we talk with and ask deeply personal questions about a local band, artist, producer, engineer, agent, record label, or venue.
Today’s Local Scene Check-In for January 2022 is LIVE with lots of banter and bad jokes from our Dog House staff crew. The Colorado local music scene is staying high-energy despite setbacks from Omicron/COVID-19, tragic local gun violence, and a hugely destructive fire that nearly took out our studio! We truly believe that live music helps all of us feel our feelings, heal together, and re-energize in order to do the work we have before us. In the words of our heroes/musicians of Los Mocochetes, “music is medicine, laughter is medicine, community is medicine.”
Head out to a local show, buy a ticket, get a drink, send a social media shout-out, donate to help those suffering, and come together to hear, love, and support some music/musicians from our local scene.
