Kids historically have been seen as miniature adults and have only recently in the last century been given the space they need to develop correctly.
Childhood is a sacred time that teaches us how to trust higher powers. Christ calls us to have a childlike faith. This can be supported early by providing kids with a safe and supportive childhood.
Discipline is diverse. Discipline should match the action not be a blanket punishment. Punishment as education is abuse. Christ never hit his disciples showing that discipline does not necessitate violence
The role of a kid is to be a kid. Their job is not to fix our problems or fulfill our dreams but instead it is our job as adults to help solve their problems and support their dreams.
