To make workplace an inspiring place, the leader is as much responsible as the team members.
Proactive team members are called โResourceful Influencersโ.
There are ways it can be done.
Emphasize inclusion.
People who are close by are visible, and hence approachable. Those who are remotely placed, are visible over zoom.
Approachable too, provided you make an effort to reciprocate.
Support asynchronous work.
Record team meetings and share.
But share bullet points along with that. So that even if somebody doesnโt have time to play the record, also knows the gist.
This shows that you care, being the leader.
Encourage your team members to be their own internal PR agents.
Have 10 minutes Tea-kickstart-break
Talk to each other till the first tea lasts.
You can extend for the second tea-cup as well. But not advisable, as this is expected to be brief and crisp.
Co-create work execution norms.
Gather everybody to decide the following:
Eliminate ambiguity and ensure accountability.
Your team cannot be effective if there are ambiguous expectations and insufficient accountability.
Start a 20-minute Monday huddle.
Ensure goals and timelines are clear.
Drive accountability.
One person can the accountable.
He should have the authority to take decision, engage and be engaged.
It can be on rotation basis
All these efforts will lead to co-creation of a culture with your employees to retain top talent, or lose key employees to companies who are reimagining the workplace to ensure that both your employees and your business thrive.
