I really wanted to help Sonu, my protagonist!
She has a pure heart, but horrible in communication.
As many of us, she has friction with her boss. She can go endlessly finding his faults. One major complaint she has, is that the boss, let us call him βBβ, does not stand by her when she most needs him.
If she is very capable, handling her work, why does she need his support?
βBecause the client has started troublingβ, she said.
Oh! But the client used to be very appreciative till last month.
Yes. But after that, she had few alterations in the deliverables, and two columns added to the list, and her junior colleagues did not see in the notifications, and only did that much she had told them to do.
But how can the juniors take a decision, all by themselves?
That error was noticed by the client. And there was a thorough checking of the spreadsheet by the client. This spreadsheet was supposed to be a subset of another department with which Sonu works all the time.
To cut the hells loose the client found that Sonuβs spread sheet has no correspondence with the other spreadsheet.
Why such a hazardous thing happened?
Can Sonu immediately bring that to the attention of the other department and resolve it out?
She said she would work that out. That was 15 days before.
Now the other department wants her to furnish the other details at her disposal, in order to sort out the spreadsheet.
The other detail file was also half done.
She became overstressed because βBβ had fixed a probable date without consulting her for a workshop. She had nβt seen that email even 15 daysβ later.
She is blaming B for this.

I wanted to create a step by step solution for her.
Thankfully she has started reading books.
I have a checklist of action points for her.
Should I ?
She is already stressed so much. Can she handle the burden of a checklist in addition?
I was angry two days back when she didnβt pay heed when I suggested that she should reply back to βBβ with an apology.
She didnβt see the reason.
I had disconnected the phone. And didnβt speak to her yesterday.
But,
I am the same person as Sonu, if I wasnβt straightening the communication.
She needs to start towards a solution, from anywhere.
That is all I am giving her.
Not to be overwhelmed.
She is not going to meet any of her deadlines this month, given her situation.
But she will make the beginning.
When I spoke to her today, she was the same complaining self again.
She said she was not able to sleep since last two days.
But as I am writing, I have been waiting for a good two hours, and I am sure she has slept off.
At least, today she has sleep.
Its not her victories I am counting.
These are my victories.
