Description

It is an excerpt from the epic Ramayana.

By the great Odia Poet Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja( Poet-Empreror Upendra Bhanja).

It describes the fisherman who

washed Sriram's feet while

helping him cross the river Sarayu

While he was proceeding for

his Forest stay

as promised to his father King Dasrath,

At the demand of Queen Keikeyi.

Untouchability at its supreme then and

the fisherman suspected that Ram wont allow

him to touch him.

So he took help of a pretext

saying that

A stone turned into  a lady (Ahalya Liberation)

previously.

So unless his feet  were washed,

the boat would turn into a woman.

Ram being one-wife-man, would then pressurize the fisherman to own the lady.

The only means of his livelihood, the boat now turned into a woman,

there will be no means left for him to manage his family.

As we all know...

the Bhabagrahi Sriram (The great knower of feelings)

allowed the fisherman to wash his feet.....
